My Xbox 360 isn't reading any discs. Games nor Movies. When i put either in the game console it tells me to open the tray because it didn't read.by the way it makes a funny noise when it tries to read the disc. i takes me a billion tries of opening and closing just to watch or play a game. What is the problem and what should I do?

I replaced the disc tray on my xbox 360 and it wont read games

try taking it back out and going over instructions again maybe you messed up somewhere. hope this helped

If it won't play any games it might be the laser that reads the disk. I would suggest getting it checked out somewhere.

Best bet would be to clean the disc reader by either using a Ku-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol or by using a actual cleaning disk for a computer

Xbox 360, I put a disc in and it said reading, then it goes back to saying open tray. Like it didnt read the disc.I tried it on video games and movies and still the same result.

my suggestion would be to take the cosole back and get a new one. it sounds like the laser is not working.

HAWX open tray

If it says "reading" you just have to wait. H.A.W.X. is a big game.
If it says "open tray" you have to close the tray :)

Unless, Check the CD for scratches and marks, or else try the CD on another Xbox 360 console.

Take out the cd. close the tray with no disk in it. let it read till it says open tray
open and close it like 3 times with tha method mentioned above with out the disk. then put the disk back in and it will probly work.
sometimes the system turns dumb and u haft to remind it to reconize when there is actally no disk.
