I have a Veo Observer camera that will not show any indication in the IP window at all; no blinking light, no light at all with power on; I asked if there was a repair facility where I could send the camera for repairs. The answer I received was similar to directing me to the phone book. It did not answer my original question.

You may try holding the power button down with the camera plugged in for 6 seconds. This should reset the camera.

Not showing the network ip address. Note i changed it from 192... to 172... and now trying to go back to the 192.168... network

Set the camera to "automatically obtain an IP-address".
Connect the camera, via an Ethernet network cable, to a router.
The router will supply a valid IP-address to the camera; much simpler than trying to "manually" set an IP-address, network-mask, and gateway IP-address.

Veo network camera

The software is on the camera, all you have to do is connect it to your network and let it get an IP address, after it shows an address on the side window, use internet explorer to go to that address ( 192.168.1.XXX) or whatever the mask is for your network, make sure internet explorer is set to allow activex controls downloading, the browser will download the control and ask for password and user name, the default is "password" and "admin" good luck

VeoNetwork Web cam

You can view your Veo Observer web cam at home by either of two methods. The first is to use the Observer Studio software that came with the camera. When you configured the camera, you selected a local (private) IP address for each Veo Observer, and set the address specific to each camera. You then put the same IP address into your Observer Studio Software.

Depending on the brand of router you use on your home network, your Veo Observer camera probably has a local (private) IP address in the format 192.168.0.xxx or 192.168.1.xxx where "xxx" is the actual address assigned to your Veo Observer (by you) and configured to display on the LCD window on the side of the Veo Observer.

You may need to log into your router to see which of the two local (private) IP address formats is used. Your router's user manual will show you how.

To view your Veo Observer, just type the exact local (private) IP address in your IE browser. for example, if you assigned address 100 to your cam, you would enter http://192.168.0.100 or 192.168.1.100 into your browser. Veo Observer will display the Language selection screen. Choose the language, then you log in and view your camera.

To view your camera from outside your home using another computer, you use the same method, but you have to substitute your WAN (public) IP address.

You can log into your router and select its STATUS tab to view your WAN (public) IP address. See you router's set up guide if you do not know how to do this.

An easier way to determine your WAN (public) IP address is to visit Gibson Research Shields Up! web page:

https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

and scroll down to the last paragraph where you will find your WAN (public) IP address.

For example, if this address is 123.456.789.100, then you would enter http://123.456.789.100 on your IE browser. You should see the Language select screen, choose your language, then log in and you are now viewing your Veo Observer from outside your home.

Note: when you view your Veo Observer at home, you probably have a fast frame rate and smooth video motion. When you view your Veo Observer from outside the home, the frame rate is certain to be less, and your moving image quality will be choppy. This is normal, as viewing from outside the home is less efficient and the image suffers. There is nothing you can do to boost the frame rate.
