I have a Kenmore ultra dishwasher and the washing light is blinking and i can't get it to start a new cycle. I don't have the heated wash button, so the sequence won't work. I did push sequence wash / air drylock buttons and all it does is cause the quick wash button to blink.
The buttons I have are :
    under cycles
pots/pans, normal wash, water miser, china gentle, quick rinse
    under options
high temp wash, sani rinse, air dry.
DO you have a solution to reset my dish washer?

I had the same problem as tulu93's and jeanlea's 4 button sequence worked! Thanks so much Fixya!!

  • zipsunsrasca Aug 25, 2008

Tried the sequence and the dishwasher runs for a short amount of time (5-10 min), and goes back to the clean light blinking.

I have the Ultra Wash Quiet guard 4 model. The "Clean" green indicator light flashes 7 (seven ) times, pauses, then flashes 7 times again. It will not start despite having unplugged and replugged it in. Any idea what the problem is or how to reset it??? Thank you in advance!

What is the button sequence that everyone is talking about that clears this?

I just saw this sequence trick! I'm gonna try it for sure.

I'm wondering if I need to press the 4 buttons simultaneously or one at a time, in that order...?

Lately, when using the dishwasher it leaks water everywhere. It comes right under the main front panel. Could be the water level getting to high because the base isn't draining well or the rubber lining?

Call sears, 1-800-4MY-HOME. They have a trouble-shooting department that will get rid of this problem. It is caused by water temperature being wrong at the start of the cycle.... blah, blah, blah. The representative will tell you to push a certain set of buttons in a certain order and that unlocks the dishwasher.

Sorry I don't know the sequence

QuietGuard3: Clean light flashing 7 times? Press Heated Dry, press Normal Wash, then press Heated Dry again and press Normal Wash again (that's 4 button-presses) and that should fix it.

D'oh!!! Found the magic 4 button sequence that resets the dishwasher at this site. Dang, the dishwashers even have computers/brains now. The sequence is press Heated Dry, then Normal Wash, then Heated Dry again and finally Normal Wash again. Basically turning both on and then turning them off. Then ALL THE LIGHTS on the dishwasher came on. Looked like a x-mas tree. Hitting the cancel button cleared it.

It still left me with the blinking green clean light but I did "the 4 button sequence" again, waited several minutes with all the lights on and then hit the cancel and now my dishwasher is able to work again. YEAH!!!

Note: I did clean out underneath the filter (required 2 tools) which had some stuff it it but that didn't fix the problem by itself. May help in the long though. I also found the manual and it said the blinking green clean light is a problem in the heating coil (or a water temperature problem) and suggested calling service. Point is, it the blinking green light returns again, you might actually need service to deal with the real problem that's triggering the flashing green light. Nite and good luck.

Drinks on me! You saved us a $65 service call, not to mention no dishwasher for three/four days until the repairman can get here. Thanx for the "secret" codes - heated dry then normal wash ... heated dry then normal wash.

The tech used the same code on ours. He said it is from running dishwasher while using sink. Not being able to drain properly is the cause. To avoid it don't use sink while dw is trying to drain.

Press Heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, and normal wash again. Worked for us. Saved us a service call. You would think they would have that in the manual. Guess they need the servical money. Dishwasher is probably preprogrammed to do that after 3 years or so.

If the clean light flashes 7 times it's an error code telling you that there's a heat problem, it will be either the heater or computer board is bad,if you remove the bottom kick panel you'll find the tech sheet inside the plastic bag,it will tell you how to read out the heater from the board,if the heater is good most likely the board is bad.i see people just resetting the board, yes it will run but after 7 loads it will start over again,it's an error code

Have a kenmore ultra wash quiet Guard 3 was working good now have no power at all to dishwasher un plugged it and plugged it back in even tried the Breaker still no power what so ever what's wrong

There are a couple of possibilities. To test first unplug the unit for safety. then you must disassemble the door. Inside the door you will find the computer and attached to the computer you will find a thermal fuse. Testing that fuse would be my first check and if it is good checking the computer and door switches would be next. This would be best done by an authorized repair company. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=kenmore+dishwasher+replacing+the+thermal+fuse&view=detail&mid=FD3B9503B85F5329C756FD3B9503B85F5329C756&FORM=VIRE

My kenmore quiet guard My partially fills and therefore does not clean. any suggestions

Possibly low water pressure; possibly a clogged inlet screen on the inlet valve; possibly a bad inlet valve (replace it).

Why are there no lights on my Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 3 dishwasher?

So I would guess you can't get it to work at all? It could be the circuit which is inside the door....I would never suggest anyone fix these things themselves. It's always fairly expensive but worth it for peace of mind knowing a job professional done.

I see the pressure tower for a Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard dishwasher laying in the bottom of the dishwasher. I've just rented the house and haven't used the dishwasher yet. Does this pie

No, the designers put it in there for a reason; it won't work as well without it, as it would with it in. Probably the mounting tabs are broken or sprung. A new tower isn't very expensive. You can probably get one from SearsPartsDirect.com, RepairClinic.com, EasyApplianceParts.com, or AppliancePartsPros.com.

Loud Buzzing Sound from Dishwasher

have you ever seen green led "Clean" light flashing? before or about the same time the buzzing sound started? and if so that would indicate that the control senses a fault in the temperature rise during the heating cycle and that the electronic control could be reset by initiating a service diagnostic cycle.(which is what you were trying to do) pls reread your manual there are times during that sequence that some buttons have to be pushed at the same time and within a certain amount of time..possible that your machine also has a bad timer which would give you a buzzing noise..if thats the case I would recommend replacing the cpu or control board..or the machin all together..The Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard name is sears but whirpool has the contract to produce all "kenmore products.hope that helps.

The IRONY of my Quiet Guard!! SO LOUD!!!!

Yes the wash arm can be removed to get to the sump area. Take the model number for your dishwasher and enter it into a site like partselect.com. There you can get a blown up diagram of the components that need to be removed to get to the cause of the grind noise. Usually a seed or some other hard object has found its way down there.
