OK so you have what is known as the Red screen of death, this is hardware failure internally and will need to be fixed, you have two options here.

Option 1

You can call Sony and they will repair this for you for free if your in warranty, if your out of warranty then the price I'm afraid is a huge $150.

Option 2

You can easily fix this problem at home using a professionally made PS3 repair guide, follow the step by step instruction and be up and running again within the hour.

The exact cause of the RSOD (Red Screen Of Death) is not exactly known. Sony acknowledges it is a problem, and will repair or exchange your PS3 unit. Whether or not it will cost you anything depends on if your PS3 is still under warranty.

Sorry there's not an immediate solution to your problem.

If you are after the quickest way to give you xbox 360 the RROD, the Red Ring Of Death, simply wrap it up in a towel whilst it is turned on, keeping an eye on it so it doesnt cause a fire hazard as they can get extremely hot.
Once a high enough tempreature is reached, the Main Printed Circuit Board will flex, causing the two large microprocessors to lift off the surface of the Printed Circuit Boar, which will either give you the red LED in the player 1, player 3 and player 4 sections or will give you one red LED section lit up with an error message on the screen. Please think very carefully about doing this as there may be no way in reversing the damage you may cause. Good Luck.

You are only have 5v standby circuit working, the problem can be in the main control board (not sending signal to turn on the main power supply sections) or the main power supply sections are bad.

If you say that this unit is very new , it should on all accounts still be under warranty.

Contact your local Toshiba Service Centre and have this problem sorted out on their account - the machine should still be under warranty.
