PRINTMASTER 16 does work with both Windows Vista

I switched from XP to vista and have had problems ever since. To save to PDF file in pm platinum 16I get the following messages (1) Error opening hklm with all access setting up the registry. (2) Error attempting to open with write access one or more configuration files for hashing, (3) PDF converter unable to initialize the pdf printer driver.

Actually it IS compatible - I am using it on Windows 7 atm. What is not compatible, is the pdf converter - a problem which can be gotten around by using cute PDF.

If it is really compatible ie. all the plug-ins should work without using another third party software for a workaround? Anyway good suggestion for the workaround.

How can I run PrintMaster 16 Platnum in Windows 7

Printmaster 16 Platinum is an older program and is compatible with XP and older versions of Windows.

First check which version of Windows 7 that you have. Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If your version title ends with x64, you will need to use an option that lets you run an older version of Windows. If you do not see x64 in the title, then the compatibility mode might work.

For the 32-bit OS, right click on the installer and choose Properties. In the Compatibility tab, check the box for always run in the compatibility mode and select an older version of Windows. Apply the changes and click OK. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator. You may need to repeat this to run the software as well. This is not guaranteed to work in Windows 7 32-bit.

The alternative is to run an older version of Windows. This could be on a second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer (if your hardware supports the feature). Most of these methods require licensed version of the older Windows OS. If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate or upgrade to them, you can run a virtual XP OS for free. Download Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Then install the Printmaster program in XP as if this is the only OS. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.)

The only other option is to upgrade to a version of Printmaster that is Win7 compatible. One option is Printmaster 2012 Platinum available here: http://www.broderbund.com/p-273-printmaster-2012-platinum.aspx .

I hope this helps.

I have Print Master Platinum 10 and my Windows operating system is Windows 7 are they compatiable? I tried installing the program but it doesn't install. Is this program too old for this operating...

I don't think Printer Master Platinum 10 will run on Windows 7. However, solution #3 on this page (http://www.fixya.com/support/t2129564-printmaster_platinum_10_version_will_not) references how to make it run on Windows Vista. The same is true for Windows 7. You can run almost any software in compatibility mode. Since they're up to version 18, I doubt it will work with Windows 7.
Hope this helps.

Our business has been using Printmaster 15 for a few years now. We recently bought a new computer with windows 7. Printmaster 15 is obviously not compatible with Windows 7. I bought printmaster 2011...

You can try version 15 in compatibility mode:

Troubleshoot Compatibility
This can help with some (but not all) programs/drivers:
1) Uninstall the program if it's already installed. Then when you install/reinstall it instead of double clicking on the install file right click it and select "Troubleshoot Compatibility"
2) Then click "Try Recommended Settings" and in the next window click "Start the Program" to install it.
3) After it installs see if it works correctly. Please note - some programs may not be able to run in Windows 7.

How do you make Printmaster Platinum 16 work with windows vista

Printmaster Platinum 16 is not compatible with Vista or windows 7. You can try to use Vista compatibility mode to run older programs in Vista. There is not guarantee that it will work!!! Please take note:- **The installation of an older program to run in a newer OS may also crash your PC too.

Good luck

IS THERE A PATCH TO MAKE PRINTMASTER PLATINUM 16 COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 7

yes can be, just follow these steps:

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer/application first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:))

Buy version 18 (not '10') online:

http://www.hermanstreet.com/store/smarthtml/printmaster-platinum.html

Note that there is a "pop-up" window that gives you 20% off their price ($34.95) if you buy online within one hour of _first_ viewing the above web-page.
