try cleaning the laser either manually by taking off the top cover then using a wet q tip then a dry q tip to abrorb excess moisture, or buy a laser cleaning disc imo is that manually is more beneficial
Check the capacitors on the power supply board to see if any one has begun to blow-up (the top is pushed up). My unit had 2200uf at c20 position starting to go bad. Unit would keep clock time but push the On button the unit would say Hello but would then not return No Disk but rather lock-up. Hope this helps.
