Our Whirlpool gas dryer, Model # LDI5701W1 stopped working in the middle of a cycle. Power supply is fine. With door closed, I can't hear the timer humming. Could it be a door switch, timer,?

It maybe but here is a website that shows how to test them, it may be a loose or broken wire, a reset button on the motor, or other things:

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II gas dryer won't turn off.

Dryer Won't Stop Running
  • Ultimate Car II Dryers are fitted with a mechanical timer that sends an impulse to the control circuit board to stop running once the set amount of drying time has elapsed. This is because, should an electronic timer fail, this would necessitate the replacement of the entire circuit board. Confirm that the mechanical timer is indeed broken by opening the dryer's door. If the dryer stops, the circuit board is working fine and is not the problem. Simply slide off the protective faceplate of the dryer, unscrew the control board beneath, and flip it over. Connected to the back of the timer's knob should be a small round device with two wires running to the circuit board within the body of the dryer. Unscrew this device from the back of the knob and disconnect the wires. A replacement timer costs a few dollars and should screw into place without trouble. Reconnect the wires and put the dryer back together. It should work fine now.

Error code of three beeps on a whirlpool dryer model 68972981

Hi troy crawford,

Well if it beeps for 3 times and then shut off when you press start it means that the dryer thinks that dryer door is open. You will have to replace your door switch to fix the problem. or you can also try closing the door normally, then firmly press on the top edge of the door. You will hear the final latch grab, then you press and hold the start button. many time it will works...

Good Luck

I have a whirlpool dryer, model number lgt6634dq0. The timmer does not stop after the drying cycle has ended. My guest it might be the timer. After the dryer has finished it's cycle I can hear the timer...

HI. The timer will be the culprit here. The timer motor is damaged, and the cogs seem to be worn, as well. I recommend replacing this failed timer mechanism. Once replaced, the unit will operate correctly.

Dryer stopping in middle of cycle but timer continues to run.

oK " It's your timer, it has to be replaced

it's not going threw all it cycles, will start but will not finish

not a big job, unscrew plate on back at the top you will see
timer , take it out and replace it

( can not stress enough that you have to unplug the electrical cord from the wall socket before working on a dryer or any appliance )
