Unfortunately there does not seem to be an LCD brightness adjust on that old really nice car stereo. So what it is is that the LCD screen uses (Electro Luminescence) technology which well fails after so long. (In fact your stereo is not engineered to last that long by any means. Check the link/thread I sent there may be a replacement part available but I highly doubt that is worth the cost/risk.

Replacement plugs are readily available from pioneer as well as metraonline.com.

Red wire is Power
Yellow is radio memory
Black is ground
No mention of a black? Hmmmm
Double check the wire schematic, there might be a boo boo in that area. - Good Luckand get it fixed before your radio goes poof.

hi , i wanna tell you that i had the same problem in ,y fh-p90 , i went to pioneer agent in jordan , and he had the right part which is . (( EL "electro lumiences " )) which responsible for the screen light , if there any help i can afford , plz contact me at (( [email protected] ))

Found a service manual here, but you have to pay for it (only 4.95 USD). It has the wiring block specs you are looking for.
