I use my Bernina 180 daily. Two days ago, it started a new problem. I'm getting the "Please check the upper thread" message repeatedly. When I pull the thread out and rethread it, it will sew for about 20", then starts giving me the message again. I have taken the end cap off and have pulled some tiny threads out of the bobbin area. I don't see any loose threads in the upper area but have aired it all out. I am trying to see what is going on so have no thread in it, yet it still stops.
A 2nd problem that started a year ago: I use invisible thread a lot--now the thread repeatedly breaks. It worked fine in the past. I have tried a number of different brands--I don't think it is a brand issue. The only way I can get it to work at all is to loosen the tension all the way and then it just barely works.
Any ideas? Thanks.

You're right--I have since figured out that it is related to a sensor in the tension area (thanks to an engineering cousin who came to visit). A service person advised that I could turn off the beeper. It has sewn fine ever since but I will have it checked next time I have to take my machine in. Thanks!
