When I engage the blades on my 54 inch Poulan EX 700, the motor shuts off. I have changed the spark plugs, changed the air filter and the fuel filter and it is still happening. I bought the mower from Badcock's after it had been returned for nonpayment to them (the original owner only had it 2 months) and got no manual with it so I can't troubleshoot or even find out where the parts are in the engine. Some help would be appreciated.

Have you checked the basic maintenance items?
- Air filter
- Fuel filter
- Fresh fuel
- Oil level
- Spark plug condition
- Clogged underside of cutting deck

when was air filter and fuel filter changed? are all pulleys turning free? spark plugs good? if everything seems good is motor wore out?

need to clean grass from under mower change plug and air filter for better perfomance

swap the coil with the other side and see if that plug gets sooty instead of the one that has been

Have you changedmthe spark plugs? also the fuel filter might be plugged. I have the same mower. you are supposed to change the plugs every year.

strip and clean carb check float,then run fuel system cleaner through the tank and you should be away
