I have a Symphonic 27" tv that I purchased 5 years ago. I was watching tv the other day, when the screen went black. When I tried to turn it back on the picture was a red, blue, and green color for one second then cut back off, is this a problem that can be handled with a repair guy, or should I just invest in another tv. Please Help!
I dont think it's worth getting a repair man to come fix a Symphonic TV... honestly, they are problem prone... and It would cost much less to just buy a whole new one. I have a symphonic tv with no remote, and now, I cant switch into game mode! It's like they designed their tv's to be crappy!

The tv had not been change the projection lamp the last 1 1/2 or 2 years and on used like 4 or 5 hours day.The tv pojection lamp life is over.Replaced a new tv projection lamp.
this is a common problem, the vertical hold has been damaged.dont leave the teli. on,the white line will burn the middle of the screen and leave a black mark. You need a new integrated circuit(i.c.) for vertical hold.
After 11 years???? OMG This set is a tired pup and should be put to reast. My experience with older sets and your complains are all capacitor problems and is only gonna get worse as the first time around repair will take several capacitors to repair. This set has no user serviceable parts inside so you should not attempt a repair suchj as this on your own.. This repair if you decide to go through the first time will be About 300 to 600 bucks the first time and cost will continue to raise till the sets put to sleep. Good luck
