Cd function says "no disc" when trying to play cd
Open this puppy up, remove the laser and clean it with a damp rag sprayed with Windex glass cleaner or Dollar glass cleaner if your a cheap bastard. Then re-install the thing. Your next alternative is to pull another laser off of another stereo and install it in your system.
Clean the laser lens.

I have a UX-2000R which from the picture is probably the UK name of the FS-7000. Whilst the radio works fine the CD player refuses to read. My friend 'Snakehead' recommended that the main chip be replaced but the local JVC repair shop told me that there was more than one version of chip and there was no way of telling which one would work. An empirical solution could be very costly!
Any ideas, Snakehead, or anybody?
