My panasonic SA-PT950 Home Theatre DVD player will not let me open and remove the disc. the previous "expert" advised me to power off, power on, press eject and stop for three seconds. This did not work!! Was I supposed to use the "stop" button on the remote and the open/close button on the front panel or what? I wonder if he even had the right model or is this some sort of generic fix.My panasonic SA-PT950 Home Theatre DVD player will not let me open and remove the disc. the previous "expert" advised me to power off, power on, press eject and stop for three seconds. I guess its not that simple. Do you have the correct model number? Where is the stop button on the unit (I have had to use the stop button on the remote). Re: My panasonic SA-PT950 says "locked" when i try to...
Turn On unit, select DVD/CD function. Press and hold down STOP and POWER buttons On Unit for at least four seconds, display will show you UNLOCKED. Thanks.

some branchs are locked for some regions, and dvd movies are open forr all regions.
try to unlock your dvd and the problem will be solved.
look in the internet how to unlock your panasonic dvd, its easy.
HELLO!
The main problem with Panasonic DVD units is they are locked to a certain region. The vast majority CANNOT be hacked via the remote control unit and please be warned there some websites who offer strings of codes (with many many numbers) and they are not guaranteed to work - in fact - some can screw up your machine for good.
My advice: take it to a local service centre who will unlock your machine properly!
GOOD LUCK!
The system has a locked / unlocked toggle sequence on the main unit by holding down stop (or Play) and then tapping the power button. Use this sequence lock or unlock the DVD / CD drawer.
