My panasonic SA-PT950 says "locked" when i try to remove a DVD. How do I "unlock" the machine

My panasonic SA-PT950 Home Theatre DVD player will not let me open and remove the disc. the previous "expert" advised me to power off, power on, press eject and stop for three seconds. This did not work!! Was I supposed to use the "stop" button on the remote and the open/close button on the front panel or what? I wonder if he even had the right model or is this some sort of generic fix.

I guess its not that simple. Do you have the correct model number? Where is the stop button on the unit (I have had to use the stop button on the remote). Please get back to me....I can't see why this should be difficult but it is!!

The solution is correct, but you have to follow the right order when pushing buttons to resolve the problem, here it goes, i hope it helps: 1) Turn the unit ON 2) Select DVD/CD 3) Press and hold the STOP button (on the unit) then press the POWER button to lock or unlock the device. Please remember this is just a security feature to avoid young kids to misuse your Panasonic System. Good luck!!

Turn On unit, select DVD/CD function.
Press and hold down STOP and POWER buttons On Unit for at least four seconds, display will show you UNLOCKED.
Thanks.

Hello,

Power off the unit and power on back, press the eject and stop button for three seconds, see if that fix the problem.

Take care.

Anyone know the all region codes for Panasonic SA-PT875 dvd

HELLO!
The main problem with Panasonic DVD units is they are locked to a certain region. The vast majority CANNOT be hacked via the remote control unit and please be warned there some websites who offer strings of codes (with many many numbers) and they are not guaranteed to work - in fact - some can screw up your machine for good.
My advice: take it to a local service centre who will unlock your machine properly!
GOOD LUCK!
