Go to control panel. Open up device manager. Find the benQ drivers that exist. If there is a yellow triangle by them with an exclamation point, it means that the software is not working. Uninstall the drivers, regardless of whether they are damaged or not.
Go to the action menu, and click on "scan for hardware changes" If driver software exists, vista should be able to find it and install automatically.
If the benQ 4300 scanner is a really old model, it may not work.
Go to that web page above and download those drivers and install then your scanner should work..
