Is there a free windows update driver to make hp photosmart m415 digital camera compatable with windows 7 please?

Have you considered NOT connecting the camera to the computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Having received no response in five months, I assume my suggestion to use a card reader solved the problem.

I bought a 4gb memory (Sony) card. I t shows unsupported when turned on , is it compatable?

The M415 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card and won't work with the camera. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Can you tell me what memory card to use for the hp photosmart m415 digital camera. I have a hp 256 mb sd card whiich is not available anymore and I can't re-format it. Need a card that is compatable with...

ew. you might consider getting a new camera if the 256 mb sd card was standard for your camera.

cameras nowadays are advancing at a break neck speed, and if you get a replacement for what you paid for the hp photosmart m415, I can assure that you will have less compatibility issues and more capacity for pictures and videos with sound, resolution, etc.

I know it is tough to part with old technologies, but when it comes to cameras it pays to update.

Downloading to computer

Go out to hp.com and click on support then updates and find your camera and download the latest updated software. I have several hp devices including one camera, and have had to download updates for all of them, The discs which come with equipment are made up before the release of the equipment, needless to say by the time you get it, the disc has long been updated.

Broken LCD screen

I did some checking around for your camera. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?rule=28832&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=445611&lang=en You can check this website also. http://search.ebay.com/HP-Photosmart-M415-Digital-Camera_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40 I would buy a new camera. It would cost more to get the camera fixed than what it's worth.
