Replace the graphics card, ours was going black here and there the last few months then finally it didn't work at all, we just replaced it today and the new graphics card (ati) works fine.

I was watching a movie and the sceen went black i had audio though.i restarted the computer and now no video black screen. did the video card **** out? video card is a nivia 8600 gt

If you are using a lcd monitor, it is very possible that your monitor backlight failed, have you tried connecting a different monitor to check your video adapter?

If the backlight failed, the image is on the screen, but is not visible unless you shine a light on to the screen

XFX 8600 gt not displaying on bootup

can't say for sure but I would believe it would have to be with your power supply, you might not be getting enough power out to run the card. Try putting in a different power supply and see if that works.

Crashes video card

It sounds like you have corrupted drivers. Remove the TV card drier and the Nvidia crd driver, reload the Nvida driver and the reload the TV card driver in order. The problem should go away.

Ok i received my new pc yesterday and installed windows vista etc, it was working great. This morning i woke up and turned my computer on and i heard 3 short beeps which were continuous and never stopped,...

3-3 is either video card or memory related.  Try to reseat your video card and see if that helps.  If nothing still, try to reseat the RAM.  If that doesn't work, try another video card.  If that doesn't work, try different memory.  If all that doesn't work, let me know and I will see what else I can do to help you out.  But from my experience, it is almost always RAM related.

No signal on monitor when card is seated

the problem occured probably because of a power shortage of motherboard battery malfunction, if your motherboard has an integrated graphics card you then need to enter setup and disable it or choose which graphis card your pc has to use but you have to do this while connected to the on-board vga slot as the other one won't be working, you will problably find the choice under the
'integrated periferals" menu in the setup menu, and to access it you have to press the "DEL" button when your pc starts-F10 in some devices-

Hello, Problem with 8600 GT egeforce graphics card

Sounds like the card is defective or your power supply is not hefty enough to drive the new card. Also check that the card is seated fully.

Computer moniter goes black but CPU is but not functioning

1. power-off your computer. unplug video and power cables. remove your video card hardware from its slot and plug it back in. put the video and power cables back. power on your computer. try this up to 3 times until your system is back to normal. it will be best if it works your first try. if it doesn't consider changing you video card.
