The blue wire (acc./remote) is not connected to the ignition. It must be directly wired to the power which has power all the time. The blue wire needs to be connected to a power source where it turns on and off when the key is turned on and off

Puull the radio out and make sure all the colors match up. it sounds like your red wire(constant power or ACC) is hooked up to your yellow wire(BATTERY)

You must have the yellow and the red wires tied together on a constant voltage source.

Only the yellow wire should be on a constant voltage source.

The red wire should only get voltage when the ignition is turned on or in the acc. position.

You need to rewire the red wire on the radio.

Let me know if it helps.

SOURCE: My Kenwood car stereo keep falshing the word "Protect" how to fix

in front of your #1 preset button there is a reset button push it with a pin. if you made a pass # put it in if not page 12 show you how to make one if you want. reseting it should make it work if it dont you have a short somewhere start from scratch buy taking it out. I suggest you dont make a password till the short is gone. Mine did the same thing but because i was pulling to much power on starting my car with my amps.

I recently had a Kenwood Stereo system passed down to me, it includes a Kenwood GE-850 Graphic Equalizer, when the EQ is turned on it works completely fine. Accept the display on the front does not light...

This site says it has the Owners Manual which would include wiring info, and also the Service Manual, but you have to register.

This site has the service manual for £5.00 UKP

In my experience, the back light on the display should be on all the time.

What is EC code in kenwood a.c ?

  1. If your car battery died, your Kenwood stereo will ask you for a code. There are various ways to enter the security code; this depends on the model of your Kenwood stereo.
  2. Look in your manual and see what the security code is for your particular Kenwood stereo. There are common security codes on many Kenwood stereos. Kenwood claims security, but its stereos have many of the same security codes. Here are three common security codes: 1-2-3-4 (a code many Kenwood owners use), 3-0-5-1 (a common security code in Kenwood manuals) and KCAR (works on some Kenwood stereo models). You should have a code within the pages of your manual. Luckily, many Kenwood stereos have the same security codes.
  3. Enter the security code into your Kenwood radio. Method #1: During the code request mode, while holding the DISP key depressed, press and hold the "Volume UP" or "DOWN" key for three seconds until the " ... " display disappears. Enter the security code using your Kenwood remote. Method #2: Press the "Auto" and "Track Up" button on the face of radio at the same time until the four dash lines disappear. Enter the security code using your Kenwood remote. Method #3: Press and hold the "One" then the "Six" preset keys until the display shows the letter "C." Enter the security code using your Kenwood remote.
  4. Tips:
  • If you did not have your manual, try the most common codes for Kenwood stereos. If those codes don't work, you can also buy your Kenwood stereo code online. There are places online that will sell you the security code to your Kenwood stereo.
  • Keep your security code and this information in a safe place.

Kenwood car stereo face got wet and now won't work, how do i fix it?

If the unit is already fried you may try to soak it in the highest alchol % of rubbing Alcohol for a day then allow the unit to dry Which should happen within a day or so because of the evaporation rate of the alcohol. This should remove the internally locked water and allow for the unit to resume Function without internally shorting.

The kenwood KDC-MP333 in my truck is connected to a set of kenwood speakers. But when I turn it on they won't work the stereo still shows the display but when I turn the stereo on it makes a sort of...

Disconnect the speakers and try it with another speaker or speakers not in the truck. If it works, the speakers or the wires to them are messed up. If it doesn't you probably damaged the output capacitor in the radio by turning it on without speakers attached. Realize that the speakers are part of the radio circuit and act as resistance. Without them, there is no resistance and it puts a strain on the radio.

I have a 2001 chrysler voyager installed a kenwood stereo and when i raise the volume to where its lound the radio will turn off and on untill i lower the vol

My electronics savvy source says you may be overdriving the amplifier in your Kenwood stereo to an impedance-mismatched set of speakers, meaning that the speakers are impedance mis-matched to the Kenwood stereo, and therefore operate ok (but inefficiently) at low volume, but cut off completely at higher volume.
Fix: match the impedance of your speaker network to the specs on your Kenwood car stereo. Once this is done, you should be able to crank up the volume to the point of permanent hearing loss.
SAFETY CAUTION - sound levels above 85 decibels produce NIHL (noise-induced hearing loss).
