It has malfunctioned. Spend $8 to $10 to buy a new 2GB memory-stick.

Kingston datatraveler 8G shows write protection error, contain a virus outorun.inf, cannot save, cannot be formated and cannot delete. Please help.

1. Open Notepad and do not write anything in it. Just go to File > Save as (save it with the name: autorun.inf)

2. Copy the autorun.inf file that you have created in the above step and paste in your "Pen Drives"

3. Remove your pen drive.

After removing the pendrive, re-insert in your PC. Now your anti-virus will not detect any virus in your PC. And Your pendrive is 100% safe to use.

I have a DT101 G2 of 8 GB and I have nothing inside it but it says that I only have 300 MB available for strorage and it wont let me store anything

it could be that your flash drive is infected by virus particularly worm which is hidden on your flash drive. Format the drive and check again if that same info appears again.

My Kingston 8 GB drive shows data into other format. If there is 2 GB of data, sometimes it shows there is 3 GB or more. The data inside my drive shows unknown symbols or something like that. Please help...

If there are such unknown folders and files in your pen drive and you did not place them there, then you have reasons to be cautious. Try to run a virus scan, these night be trojans or worms, etc. or copy/backup the important files in your pen drive then, format your pendrive.
