I have a Maytag LAT9406AAE top load washer. The only setting that now works is the Gentle Cycle. The other cycles will fill with water but they won't go through the spin cycle. How can I fix this?

underneath the agitator is a graphite seal ring and nut that seals the inner tub and the outer tub. a suitable spanner wrench or a 6 inch channel lock plier will remove this locknut. replace the seal.

you have a bad water valve.. replace the valve where the hoses are hooked to your washer

The brakes are probably stuck or the cam that releases them is damaged

yes it sounds like a timer fault

it will fill but won,t spin, will throw out water as if it washed, then it take water to rinse but won,t spin ,then will throw out water as if it did , but clothes are soaked
