Adjusting headlamp on a 2009 Subaru forester

E: ADJUSTMENT
1. HEADLIGHT BEAM ADJUSTMENT
CAUTION:
Turn off the light before adjusting the headlight beam level. If it is necessary to inspect the beam level, do not keep the light on for two min- utes or more.
NOTE:
Before checking the headlight beam level, be sure of the following:
• Check the area around the headlight for any scratches, damage or other types of deformation.
• Make sure that the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
• Make sure that the inflation pressure of tires are correct.
• Make sure that the vehicle fuel tank is full.
1) Bounce the vehicle two to three times to normal- ize the suspension.
2) Make certain that someone is seated in the driv- er's seat.
3) Measure the distance between the low beam bulb centers, and the height of the bulb center

Low beams keep dimming while driving

Headlamps
The headlamp driver module (HDM) is an electronic module that provides electrical power to the vehicle low beam headlamps. The HDM is controlled by a pulse width modulated (PWM) ground signal from the body control module (BCM). The BCM determines the desired lamp intensity using the ambient light sensor, multifunction switch and the park brake switch as inputs. In general, the HDM will operate in 1 of 3 modes:
?€¢
Reduced Intensity Mode: This mode is used by features that do not require or allow maximum low beam headlamp intensity such as daytime running lights (DRL) (nominal: 85% duty cycle).

?€¢
Full Intensity Mode: This mode is used by features that require full low beam headlamp intensity such as low beam headlamp operation in manual or auto modes (nominal: 100% duty cycle).

?€¢
Off Mode: This is the default mode of the system that will occur when none of the features described above are active. The BCM will deactivate its PWM output (0% duty cycle) during this mode.

The normal battery voltage input to the HDM must be between 6 and 16 volts DC to operate. Any deviation to these values could cause improper operation.
The ambient light sensor is a light sensitive transistor that varies its voltage signal to the body control module (BCM) in response to changes to the outside (ambient) light level.
You should have the modules scanned for codes first off. Not the engine control module .( BCM ) body control module , yes . That's the first thing I always do !
Could be a bad ambient light sensor or the headlamp driver module. You could check voltage at the battery with engine running, should be over 14 volts. If you don't deal with this sort of thing on a regular basis I'd take it to someone who does !
You

How to adjust headlights

from the front or back of the head light , there will be 2/3 adjusting knobs / screws . Place the vehicle on a level surface about 3 feet from a plain coloured wall. You will see the centre of the beam( High beam). The centre of the beam is to be at the same height as the centre of the head light lense and properly adjusted pointing slightly to the passenger side of the vehicle . This prevents full beam in the eyes of oncoming cars.

Low beam headlights on a new 389 peterbilt need to be adjusted

Follow these steps to adjust low beam light on your 389 Peterbilt:
1. Park on a leveled ground, at least six feet away from a garage door or a wall
2. Use tape to mark the vertical centerline of the beam on the wall or garage door
3. Backup about 25 feet
4. Now use the provided vertical/horizontal screws to adjust the light. Aim it - two inches below the tape -and to the right side of the tape
5. Remember to check the state laws on headlight beams before making any changes

My beam on laser not very visible and being picked up n sensoe to staff

Does changing the battery make a difference in the signal strength? With my Dewalt, I have to change batteries frequently and also clean the battery connections with a soft eraser to keep a strong beam.

One of the reasons, I went with the Dewalt versus the Spectra, I was told that battery life was better in the Dewalt.

Red light will not stop flashing only just started, less than a year old

When the tool is level, the lasers will stop flashing, but check out the batteries too, because if they're weak, the tool will not level, and the lights will continue to flash .
