your xbox has crashed .Sometimes if you power it down all the way you can reboot, unplug at the console not at the wall beacause there is stored energy in the transformer and you wont get a true power down, good luck

Is there three red lights???? or a complete circle???? Three lights is the red ring of death. Four red lights or a circle is either a bad a/v cable (try a different one) or a bad hard drive....(try taking it off of the side when power is off then turn it on.).

Press the circle button in front of your xbox 360 and at the same time press the small circle button on your controller ( located near the port where you connect the play and charge kit cable) so they can sync with each other

That is called the red ring of death. I don't own an XBOX 360 but I would contact Microsoft. Some XBOX 360 have been covered by an extended warranty because So many of them have had this problem. To my knowledge there is nothing you the user can do to fix this type of problem
