Jvc floor model Tv

My tv has a orangish shadow. It just appeared out of the blue when I cut on the tv this morning. I tried the convergence but it seemed to make it worst. I played a dvd and there was no change. someone told me I may need a new color tube. What do you think? How much is the repair?

JVC AV-48WP30: CONVERGENCE PROBLEM!!! HELP!!!

U have convergence board issues. Sometimes over time the solder joints on the board go bad or develop minute breaks. U might try removing the board and resoldering every thing you can get it. U can also consider baking the board in an oven at around 270 degrees for about 8 minutes to melt all of the connections on the bottom of board.
Then remove, allow to cool, cross your fingers and see what happens.

Replaced Convergence Board...then...Blue shawdow appears

Maybe the new board was bad, or the B+ that feeds the convergence board is bad., This is where experience comes to play I'm afraid. Good Luck.

JVC AV-56WP74 Problem

Yes, one of your convergence IC's have gone bad. They are located on the convergence board inside the tv and there are two of them. They are inexpensive and easy to replace if you know how to solder. Watch out for the JVC booby trap sensor on the dvi input card. Don't run the tv with the back panel off unless you have disconnected the DVI card from the main board. I would even cover the little sensor with black electrical tape. Then it is safe to work on the tv when it's open and on. Well safe for those who know what they are doing.
