Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ToshibaSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Video drivers.You can also try Driver Guide at:http://www.driverguide.com
This will take any EIDE disk, read not SATA!! It is very simple to replace a disk. It is a challenge to reload the OS and the drivers. Before you start, make sure you have the recovery disks or an XP disk. In the process, all of your data will be lost unless it is backed up someplace.

Sounds like there is a faulty connection between the power switch and the computer. Probably why its making a little noise.
Take in for repair and replace power button.
