Look in the pump and see if maybe something is clogging it. Check the belt.

Open your machine door then unplug it from the power. Inspect the door seal carefully as this is the most common thing to go. next pull the machine out from the wall but take care not to stress the hoses. Then get someone to tilt the machine over while you look underneath to see if you can see the source of the water. Most parts are replaceable with a bit of patience. Post back if you need more info :-)

3 year old GE stackable washing machine, had water coming out the top and would not drain or go through cycle, when shut off it drained a little but when turned on again it filled up and over flowed.

I have a GE WSSH300G0WW washer and it is doing the same thing except I can not go to any other cycle to get it to spin. The water is just sitting in the machine right now.
