Question about Reddy Heater RLP100 Portable Forced Air Propane Heater with Variable Heat Ouput

R100 reddy heater, low pressure forced air heater. the heater ignites, motor runs for 30 seconds then shuts down. photo cell good, filters clean, no ignition board, pump pressure unknown.

The R100 is a kerosene heater and the RLP100 is a propane heater so I am not sure when one you have.
If it is kerosene then you may need to check the pump pressure. Also the Safety swith can give you a cut out after 30 seconds.

If the unit is Propane then you could have a bad control board or a flame sensor.

My R100 reddy heater will ignite and run when I have the top of the torpedo off. While running I can put the top on and it runs smoother with less excess fuel. It does not ignite or start with the top...
The air settings may have changed. Anytime you change a filter for the air, or just remove it and reinstall it the air settings change. A small amount of pressure change can cause your issue. These heaters are very sensitve to air pump pressure changes. If you took off the nozzle, you took off the hoses too. Check that the hoses do not leak at the fittings to the nozzle body.I belive there is a sticker on the unit that gives the specs for the air pressure settings. Do you still have your owners manual? It should tell you in there how to trouble shoot the heater, There are 2 screws at the back of the motor, 1 is the pressure gauge port, and the other can be adjusted to set the pressure. It is recomended to use an air gage to set the pressure after any kind of service.You will need a low pressure testing gage. Accurate to 3-6 lbs. NOTE:( tire pressure gages are not reccomended for this) Check those lines, use a clamp or a zip tye to seal them to the fitting. I hope this helps.

125btu reddy heater, somene mixed some gas in the heater and now it won't ignite. how to fix??
Drain it clean it out real good clean out the fuel system end to end. From the line in to the tank thru the filter and so on remove the nozzle clean the screen and nozzle put it all back together. with the top section removed try to start the heater. You should have a fine mist of fuel and spark if it lights shut it down and clean the photo electric eye with a soft cloth and windex. make sure the igniter is clean and close to the fuel mist for ignition, put the top on and turn on your heater.

R55B Reddy Heater won't stay running. (PMS? menopause?)
Wow! Yours is the best description of a problem I have ever seen!!! Before I read the whole thing I figured you missed the pressure check as most people do but you nailed it. This is what I would try, Replace the air filter, the fuel filter, and the fuel (to make absolutely sure there is no water in the fuel) and readjust the fuel/air mixture. If that does not do it replace the cadmium cell they only cost pennies. Let me know how you make out and good luck.

150,000 BTU propane Reddy Heater shuts off after ignition
Is there a frost line on your LP tank, if so you may need to replace the tank with a larger tank or refill your tank. This can happen if the tank your using is too low or too small (use 100 lb tank or greater). If there is no frost line it may be an issue with the thermocouple. Can be the Photocell {eye} at the back of the burner or the inline fuel filter.Photocells are easy to replace and when you install the new one make sure it's aiming straight to the flame.Inline filter can be cleaned by using forced air,but not recommended.Filters are cheap.If none of that works check the air pressure at the pump,rear of machine,little plastic pipe plug.4 to 5 P.S.I

Reddy Heater 60,000 Model R60 only runs with top off.
Sounds lik the vent hole in the filler cap is plugged. Try cleaning it or replace the cap.

Kerosene Portable Forced Air heater comes on, runs awhile
The unit should have a fuel & air filter. Check that both are clear. Inside the burner tube, there will be a photo-cell, if the lense is dirty it will shut the flame off. The photo-cell needs to see the flame. You can carefully and gently, clean the lens with a tissue, soft cloth, or Q-tip. Please let me know how its coming along.
