    In my post you replied that nothing can be done for a smashed plasma screen, but I didn't ask about repairing the broken one, I was asking about removing it and replacing it with a new one, and that can be done - but thanks for taking the time to reply anyway

No, not really but you need to know specific information to make sure the one you get is compatible. If you're good with electronics you should be ok doing it yourself but this seems like a good deal:

Smashed glass screeen on samsung 50 inch plasma tv how much to fix is it worth it
Most of the times smashed screen means the end of plasma tv. Although if your tv model is older than 3 years, you could search for same model broken tv's with working screens since power supplies usually last for a few years in modern flat panels. Though you will need a qualified serviceman to do the assembly from two faulty units into a working one.

My philips plasma tv fell off my stand and smashed the screen. there is sound coming bu no picture. the glass inside is smashed but nothing has run out of the screen. can it be fixed?
Yes it can be fixed most certainly. You have broken your Plasma screen and most certainly scratched your filter glass with the broken screen glass inside. Depending on where you bought the TV, and whether you have a cover plan, you may get the Tv screen & Filter replaced under accidental damage. If the TV is still under warranty and you dont have a cover plan, you may find the repair will be refused. If so, you could maybe buy the same tv off ebay as repairs or spares and fix yours.

HELLO

To answer your question - YOU DON'T! This is the main problem when a screen is broken/smashed etc.

To get a new screen installed in LCD or Plasma TV's will cost more than a new TV is worth!

Forget it and dump it!

Smashed screen on plasma tele can it be fixed or not?
It may well be repairable since it probably isn't that old but with the plunge of flat panel prices, it may cost more to repair than replace.
If you replace the whole set, don't buy another plasma; while they are a tad better than the LCDs of the period it was manufactured, there isn't much difference in the two systems today and the LCD display will not decay over time as the plasma is known to do.
