I assume when you say "memory stick" that you mean a USB memory stick rather than a Sony memory stick.

You should try it in another USB port (if ther is one on your laptop). If that doesn't work, then try it in another PC - if it doesn't work in another PC either, then it is likely that the memory device is at fault, otherwise. If it works fine on another PC, then it is likely that it is the USB port on your new laptop that is at fault in some manner.

If you have another USB device you can use (anything will do - a mouse, webcam, etc), try it in the port you tried the memory stick in. If nothing happens, then in all likeleyhood, the USB port is at fault. If the other device works, then it is probably the USB memory device that is faulty.

If the device works in another PC, try reformatting it as FAT file system on that PC, and see if you can then see it in your new laptop.

How do I put photos from my comuter onto a 2gb sony memory stick

  1. Insert a Memory Stick into the Memory Stick slot in the left side of the PSP. Depending on how many photos you want it to hold, you may need to get a larger one than the stick that came with your system.
  2. Turn on the PSP.
  3. Plug a USB cable into the back of the PSP and into your PC or Mac. The USB cable needs to have a Mini-B connector on one end (this plugs into the PSP), and a standard USB connector on the other (this plugs into the computer).
  4. Scroll to the "Settings" icon on the home menu of your PSP.
  5. Find the "USB Connection" icon in the "Settings" menu. Press the X button. Your PSP will display the words "USB Mode" and your PC or Mac will recognize it as a USB storage device.
  6. If there isn't one already, create a folder called "PSP" on the PSP Memory Stick -- it shows up as "Portable Storage Device" or something similar -- (you can use Windows Explorer on a PC, or Finder on a Mac).
  7. If there isn't one already, create a folder called "PHOTO" inside the "PSP" folder (on newer firmware versions, this folder may also be called "PICTURE").
  8. Drag and drop image files into the "PHOTO" or "PICTURE" folder just as you would save files in another folder on your computer.
  9. Disconnect your PSP by first clicking on "Safely Remove Hardware" on the bottom menu bar of a PC, or by "ejecting" the drive on the Mac (drag the icon into the trash). Then unplug the USB cable and press the circle button to return to the home menu.....

I have a dell mini without the CD/DVD player and I need to install my norton 2010. how can I proceed? [email protected] Thank you

Use a computer with a CD/DVD drive and a USB port. Insert an USB memory stick into this computer, and also insert the Nortons CD into this computer. Copy the contents of the Nortons CD onto the USB memory stick.
Remove the USB memory stick and insert it into the Dell mini's USB port and then install Nortons from this USB memory stick.

Memory stick pro duo sony won't read

Files on a flash drive and memory cards in a card reader can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the memory card and flash drive you may need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

My USB Memory stick wont show on My Computer

I'd try in different USB ports and even maybe on another computer first. If still not working, contact the manufacturer. If you truly mean 'Memory Stick', as in Sony's, you can find support options for repair or replacement. Alternately, you could attempt to go through a data recover specialist.

How do i put music on my sony ericsson phone from a laptop

To put music on your W810i cellphone, connect it to your laptop with the usb cable. If you don't have the cable use a memory stick. The phone or card will show up as a removable drive on your computer in the Windows Explorer. Copy folders of music into the MP3 directory. When your phone is disconnected or the card is inserted, it will take several moments to index the music, and then your music will appear in the music listings.

I cannot find mp_root when i connect psp into pc

Okay the easiest way is to re-format your memory stick using your psp. Just make sure you save any files over to your pc (like games saves, pics, etc, etc...)

1 go to system setting on your XMB menu click on it
2 look for format memory stick click on that (make sure you saved what ever you have on your memory stick that you wanted to save because it will erase everything on your card)
3 click yes to proceed and it will re-format your stick and you should have all the necessary files folders on your memory stick.

IF you still having trouble please feel free to ask. :D
