Sorry to say but its your heating element. When they go bad it exposes the element to the water and creates a direct short. This short is what trips your GFCI. It needs to be replaced.

Sounds like the heating element has gone out again. Once you reset the circuit breaker and the tub turns on it will start to circulate the water. This usually runs like this for about 2 mins and then the tub will recognize it is cold and send power to the heater. If the element is back at that point it will blow the circuit breaker. If this circuit breaker pops as soon as you turn it on then you most likely have a bad circuit board.
must be running with gfi. run for one hour without neutral wire connected. it will dry moisture content within heater elements. then reconnect neutral wire, and walla, no tripping.

Probably nothing... but the gfi breaker reads the load through the elements as a short. For me there should never be a gfi breaker on a resistance load. The load is doing exactly what the breaker is designed to prevent. Replace the breaker with a regular one and you will be fine....
If you want and you have an ohm meter, check out the resistance across the two hot wires first. If youare shorted anywhere you will get 0, if not you will get and ohm reading...showing that you are not shorted but you have a resistance across the lines.
Mine was having the same problem. I believe that the boiler is leaking current to ground -- GFCIs are sensitive to this. I'm ordering a replacement boiler heater from Empire Fulfillment -- I'm working with Mark 1-877-855-4540 -- He's a good guy
Hmmm. It doesn't sound like a boiler problem. The heating element is controlled by a pressure or temperature switch. Either the switch is poorly connected or malfunctioning. Temp. switches are directly on the boiler with wires that go to a relay connected to the heating element. Pressure switches just have a tube connected to the boiler with wires to the relay.
unlikely to be the defrost timer. more likely to be the defrost element. try disconnecting the element and see if it trips then. could be of course a wiring fault - frayed wires etc
