Garmin c330 turns on, gets maps, etc., but will not aquire satilite.

Register your Garmin at MyGarmin.com - from here Garmin guides you to download the webbrowser plugin to communicate with your Garmin StreetPilot C330 over a USB cable.

When your Garmin StreetPilot C330 is connected through your webbrowser - it will show compatible map updates. These can be ordered on DVD or downloaded.

Note that downloading the map update will take a very long time and requires at least 5 Gb of disk space on your PC/Mac. The internet connection needs to be fast and stable enough to complete the huge download. Otherwise its better to order the update through DVD.

Try connecting in your car and leave it on and let it charge while you are driving it may eventually find the satellite, it probably remembers the last satellite it found which was in Kansas. You may not be getting a signal where your are right now so run some errands and leave it connected in your car.
You can also go to the garmin web site and try updating the unit. You will need a usb cable and will need to install garmin updater. Make sure the unit is fully charged.
If this does not work you can call garmin and they are usually very helpful. Here is the garmin link which will help answer some more questions.

You need to open up the Garmin and flip the metal thingie (above the battery place.

Try this .
Go on the garmin web site and find the map update for your unit , It should be listed and with a unit upgrade on there too. down load it and after you get that going plug in your unit into the computer and when it gets done click on the down load to your unit by follwing the instruction .
When you get done doing this turn off the gps unit and turn it back on.
I hopw this will do the trick for you.

This seems to be a common problem and my unit has the same issue. Hopefully someone from Garmen monitors this forum and will offer a suggestion or explaination. Perhaps leaving the units in a hot car in the summer fries something that affects sensitivity of the unit.

I have no signal or one small red point.The GPS shows looking for satilite and that is it.

Did you try to perform a map upgrade to 2008? Turn on the Garmin and from the main menu touch the wrench,
then press Map, then look for Map info.


This will show the the current map version installed

first, you take cd ver 5.7 and coy to on your pc and then run your ver5.7. then a dialgbox see in your desktop then you click on ok/yes
then no take action lease contact me.
