Car charging My Zen V Plus will not charge using the car charger. I have tried several car chargers that accept the usb cable provided. I can charge the unit the conventional way via the PC or power adapter, the only problem is in the car. I travel often I would like to have a longer access to my music while in the car. Can you help?

Sorry to not have a solution, but only to post that I have experienced the same problem trying to charge my Zen V Plus using an iGo adapter with a USB2 tip. I can't get my Zen to charge except when I use the wall charger or USB cable to PC. I'm as curious as you are about the reason why.

Mine isn't a ZEN V Plus but it is a ZEN mp3

it could be the battery that is dead, however it is more likely that the chargers your are trying do not match the voltage needs necessary to charge it. just because a charger fits does not mean that it will actually charge it. LI-ion batteries are VERY picky and some can explode (literally EXPLODE as in bang, where did my hand go) if the wrong voltage is applied. here's the thing, most devices have a fail-safe built into them so that you cannot mess up the battery unfortunately the first charger you tried could have fried this making it unchargeable the reason the other charger works is because when a proper voltage is applied the power is split between running the device and charging the battery (this is cut off if too much power is applied) the actual battery takes very little power to charge you should look up the player via google and take not of the voltage and amperage needed to charge it these are important, there is a good chance it will still work. just buy the proper cable to hook it up to the PC this should charge it however that's not a guarantee the olympus mr100 for instance, would not charge via PC only with the dock and wall adapter. good luck and i hope this helps!

P.S. there is still the possibility that the bat. is fried and you may need a new one.

I have a Creative Zen V plus. It has worked fine

Try to switch it ON when it is connected with USB or charger. If it turns ON then batteries require replacement.

Creative Zen MP3 won't charge with mains adaptor

Don't worry that doesn't mean that your mp3 player is faulty, if there is any fault it is from the charger but since the usb charges it well, just continue to use it. It doesn't mean the player is faulty, IT HAPPENS.

How to charge my creative zen mp3 player

Just connect your Zen onto your PC (NOT LAP TOP) on a USB.
If does not start charging (you´ll see arrow and pause/ play buttons flashing slowly) then you need to RESET your ZEN.
How to reset: You´ll find a tiny little hole by on/off button on the side. With ZEN connected to the PC USB or onto wall charger try turning ZEN on, it doesen´t matter if it turns on or not. Then insert a sowing pin or office paper clip end in this reset hole for a few seconds and release. Give it a couple of seconds and see the lights go off onto charging mode. LEAVE IT CHARGING for 24 hours. Make sure your PC will NOT turn itself on safe mode or hibernates in this period, it has to be ON for charging, at all times.
This is it.
