I purchased norton systemworks bacic upgrade may 17th i keep getting anotice saying it is expired as of right now i have no protection

It is the 2010 you have.You have to buy the 2011 upgrade before it expires.If it expires you
have no protection against virus.

Uninstall the old antivirus first before you install the new one.

If it's expired it means you have to get a new one, most anti virus software are sold for a limited amount of time. Either way Norton is no good, I run Avast free edition and I never had any problems, you should get it too, and if you feel like having even better protection you can buy avast for life for only 65 CAD, which I bet is less than Norton.

want to turn on Auto-Protect permanently

Most of the Norton antivirus comes with one year subscription. date u mentioned here seems like more then 1 year old. That's why it says expired
If you dont want to spend any more money on antivirus then uninstall this one and download AVG from this site. this is really good antivirus for free and good for ever.

If you have installed a free-trial copy, your subsrciption is expired & that is why you are getting this message. Purchase the norton anti-virus from their site. Even if you try to reinstall it, it won't let you..

In my experience Norton can become flakey at times. Make sure your subscription to norton has not expired. Otherwise try un-installing norton and re-installing it. Part of it may have become corrupted.
