You need to make sure your computer's display resolution is set to 1440x900, which is the monitor's native resolution. Other resolutions will result in fuzzy displays or, as you're seeing, distorted images.

Right-click on an open area of the Windows desktop (that is, not over any icons), then select "Properties" from the pop-up menu. Click the "Settings" tab and you'll find a slider adjustment to set the resolution. If 1440x900 is not offered as a resolution, you'll need to upgrade your video card (or add a video card if you have a motherboard with integrated video). Most newer computers support that resolution, but some older systems may only go to 1024x768.

Hello,

That model does not have a built in microphone, you will need to get an external mic and connect it to your computer.

FPD1975W TFT LCD monitor my monitor blinks a blue power light and flsahis a white screen but it does not turn on ?

Hello,

A flashing power light indicates a failure of the power supply, this will also cause the white screen. Here is a link to a page showing what parts need to be replaced to repair the power supply board and get your monitor back running again.

This is the strangest thing I've ever seen. I have a Gateway FPD1975W TFT Monitor and its always worked great. The other day it went into a sleep mode via windows, and now it wont boot up the input...

Hello,

Your monitor problem is causes by the power supply. What is happening is the power supply voltages are not stable, just enough to power the unit up. When you connect it to a video signal the power demands slightly increase and the power supply can't handle it. This is a very common problem with LCD after a few years of use. The issue with the power supply is the capacitors have started to fail. These parts are used to filter the output voltage and when they start to fail the outputs start rippling hence the problem you are having. Here is a link to a repair article that shows how to repair the Gateway FPD1975W monitor.

Fuzzy screen on Gateway FPD1975W TFT LCD Monitor

With the pixels acting up and the monitor having the same problem on any computer that its connected to. The screen itself is bad and since there are no replacement screens for that monitor, you would have to buy a new monitor or get it replaced if its under warranty.

Gateway Monitor goes blank after a few seconds after startup.

Sounds like the inverter is broken or have a short circuit. This is a common failure on TFT displays.

Here is a website explaining this kind of failure:

Restart the PC and get into SAFE MODE. Hit and release F8 many times right after turning on PC. If it works, then go into your video setting and either change the settings or remove the video driver. Restart the PC and you'll get 800X600 screen, then reinstall the video drivers. IF it won't go above 800X600, screen internals are bad, LCD toasted. I've seen that happen with LCDs and older monitors.

Probable failed power supply. If you look at the screen on an angle after your system has finished booting and see faint images, it is the backlight or is associated high voltage power supply that has failed.
If you see no 'shadows' at all, then the main supply has failed.
Either one of these could be a separate supply since many manufacturers buy from specialized companies.
