just boot from your backup disk. it will guide you to reload the Operating system (factory default).
FYI, if you haven't delete the recovery partition, you can use alt+f10 to reload. just press alt+f10 during boot.

alt+f10  push together. if the restore files still working  it will start automaticly. if files are broken down  acer doesnt support this in warranty.  you need setup xp or vista manuelly.ç

SOURCE: acer extensa 4630z windows complete restore

I wrote to Acer myself about this and this is their reply.

The other way before Vista starts up is to tap ALT + F10 (at the same time repeatedly) when the computer is first switched on.. The window of opportunity is very small, so this may take a few attempts

Once you have tapped both the ALT and F10 repeatedly, you may see a screen showing:

“Edit Boot options for Microsoft Windows Vista”

If you see this, unfortunately, you have missed the window of opportunity, and you need to restart, and try again.

If you see this:
“Edit Boot options for Windows Setup” OR “Edit Boot options for Acer eRecovery”

Then it indicates that you have tapped the ALT + F10 correctly, and all you now need to do is press “Enter” and the Recovery program should load on your screen after a short pause..

In some cases, you may need to remove the battery (for notebooks only) and run the machine directly from the mains.

The Disk2Disk recovery feature allows you to recover the system without recovery CDs.

This will return your system to factory settings and will delete everything stored on the machine.
If possible we strongly advise backing up anything important on your machine before starting the recovery process.

Will acer extensa 5230E reinstallation cds contain windows

A driver restore disk works with a windows disk to return your Acer Extensa 5230E Windows 7 back to the original factory setup.

Once windows has installed you put this disk into the drive as soon as windows gives you a found new hardware dialog box. Once inserted the Acer Extensa 5230E Windows 7 will automatically find all the drivers and also install most of the original factory software. BEWARE OF GENERIC DISKS ! All Drivers and factory software are operating system specific so you must have the correct software and drivers for your Acer Extensa 5230EWindows 7. Some of the drivers you would find on this Acer Extensa 5230E Windows 7 Restore Disk are listed below. Not all will be applicable to your system as this list is for information only for Acer Extensa 5230E Windows 7 Restore Disk.

THIS DISK DOES NOT CONTAIN AN OPERATING SYSTEM!
YOU WILL NEED TO INSTAL Windows 7 FIRST OR USE AN EXISTING INSTALL.

Hope this helps

Wy dose my acer extensa 5235 stop at 53 persent when i am trying to set it to factory setings

This is usually because the backup image is corrupt. You would be better off doing a re-install, it is more reliable and easier.

How to fromat labtop acer extensa 4620

@sijokmathews

Acer laptops have a built-in recovery mode on the system wherein you can restore the computer to factory default (please note that this will erase everything). The hotkey for the recovery is the ALT+F10 key. After you press the power button, you need to hold ALT and then simultaneously press the F10 key to start system recovery.
Once the recovery menu has loaded, click Restore to Factory Default Settings.

How do I completely restore my extensa 5620Z to factory settings? I want all files deleted completely. Thank you

If you place your restore disc in the DVD/CD Rom drive and boot from it, choose format drive when given the choice. That will remove all files and place the system on that was set when you bough it.

How can i factory set my acer extensa 5220

Hi,
To restore your laptop you need the restore cd/dvd that came with your laptop when you bought it.
Please be adviced that restoring your laptop will cause you to lose all your data. Backup any data you would like to keep, to an externad drive or usb.

To restore your laptop do the following:
Insert the restore cd in your cd/dvd drive and restart your computer.
When you see the message "Press any key to boot from cd" press enter.
Then follow the on screen instructions to restore your laptop.
