How about trying a reset? Go into the camera menu and find "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions. After that, to be absolutely sure, let's do a manual reset. Remove the card and battery...press every button...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

Can card slot damage memory card?

They can but there is an inherent issue with those cards. They are RAM memory and can be easily damaged by a lot of things. Static electricity is one downfall of them.

See if you can access the menu and format the card to see if the card is damaged.

My Samsung ES30 camera gives me the DCF Full error message.I tried other solutions ,such as formatting the memory cardd,I even tried a new memory card.Still the message comeup.Who know what to do?I am in...

The manual says: the files names does not match the DCF format. Transfer the files on the card to your computer and format the card.
You tried to format and it did not work. Sure the card is not locked? The lock switch should be up, so the card is unlocked an you must be able to format te card and you should be able to write files to the memory card.
Although the camera is compatible with SCHC I wonder if you did not put in a very big card. Perhaps your camera cant work with 8 or 16 GB. Is surely can't work with SDXC cards.
Did you try a normal SD card, and could you format that one?

Cannot open the files or pictures on computer

Try putting the memory card directly into the computer through a memory card reader. If that doesn't work, the memory card might be defective or it might need to be formatted.

Hi, I have a Samsung NV3 camera, I have installed a new 4 GB memory card but it is showing memory full. Is there and internal memory on the camera that is full that requires deleting? many thanks

I've tried to download a manual for this camera to give you the most accurate answer possible, however after a few minutes of frustration I'm going to answer this sort of "off the top of my head so to speak" My first impression is that the 4GB memory card my be beyond your cameras capabilities but first try this. Have you checked the memory card to make sure it's not locked I'll include a diagram check the small circle for the correct orientation the arrow shows the lock position.

Once you have made sure the card is unlocked install the memory card and then format the card. Formatting "programs and new card to work with the camera it has been installed into. Also Formatting should be done after each download of pictures to the computer hard drive. In this case formatting cleanse the old pictures off and programs the card once again to give optimum performance between the camera and memory card. If this still doesn't work then I suspect the 4GB card is to large for the camera "firmware and you will need to update your camera on the Samsung web site to a newer version of firmware. Sounds complicated but heck i did it so it's not all that technical. Also the memory card you are replacing may only need to be formatted to begin to work properly again (that's if you were having problems)

It says card is locked

I am guessing that your memory card is an SD type. These cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.

When I insert a new memory card into my Z730 it tells me "memory card must be formatted" but it will not format. The memory card that is currently in the camera works fine!

Hello. Some of these memory cards have a small lock slide on the perimeter. Check yours to see if in fact, it is in the lock position which would prevent you from formatting. Formatting erases everything from the card so the lock is a protection.

please rate my answer as very helpful.. thanks. J.
