I BOUGHT AND INSULTED THE BELKINS N WIRELESS USB ADAPTER ON MY DESKTOP COMPUTER THAT USES WINDOWS XP. I ALSO BOUGHT A $1300.00 VAIO SONY LAPTOP WITH WINDOWS 7 AND TRIED TO DOWNLOAD THE SAME WIRELESS PROGRAM AND CAN NOT SEEM TO GET ON LINE. ON SOME OF YOUR WEB SITES Q & A., SOME SAY YOU CAN USE WITH WINDOWS 7 AND SOME SAY NO YOU CAN'T. I WENT TO A MORE EXPENSIVE BELKINS USB ADAPTER & IT SPECIFICALLY STATES - CAN NOT USE WITH WINDOWS 7. WHAT DO I DO NOW? thank you BOBBIE

Cant find where to get wireless internet on my pcv-w1

Not all laptop computers have built-in wireless capability,
but all the newest ones do.

You may need to purchase either a PCMCIA or a USB wireless-adapter, and insert the adapter into the appropriate slot, to add wireless capability.

2. Insert the NETGEAR adapter Resource CD into your CD-ROM drive. The CD main page shown at the right will then load.

Note: Windows 2000 may require you to be logged on with administrator rights.

1. Please power on your computer. Allow the operating system to boot up completely and log in as needed.
2. Insert the NETGEAR adapter resource CD into your CD-ROM drive. The setup page will then load.
3. Afterwards, click on the Install Driver & Utility link.

You should be able to use any usb wireless network adapter, or any cardbus type II wireless adapter. BUT if you are running windows 98 or ME or an older version than xp... before you purchase one, go to the manufacturer site and be sure that there are drivers for the version of windows that you are running. Here is what to look for and a link to some items that may work.
