Horisontal lines My camera - a Pentax Optio M10 - suddenly has gray horizontal lines all across pictures now. I'd like to know why, and what to do about it.

i have same pentax optio m10
am very happy with this fantastic camera until i suddenly got horizontal lines across the screen and when downloading photos this is in the photos too ??

It's likely something wrong with your camera. You may do the following test: Try to format your card (warning: everything will be wiped) and then take some more pictures. If the problem persists, then you probably need to take it to a service center.
I am sorry you having that problem, and even more sorry I do not have a solution...On my Pentax Optio M10 batteries rechargeable or fresh alkaline only seem to last about 5-6 pictures before the camera deems them flat without charge and shuts off...it is so annoying I assume yours is possibly doing the same. I suspect this to be a camera problem, I also notice the camera dos not recognize all rechargeable batteries some of them do not even get acknowledge. If anyone gets a solution help us both....
OK, this sounds to me like an CCD error. This is unfortunately once of the more expensive components on a camera to be repaired.
I would suggest that you take this camera to your nearest repair store, explain to them what the problem is, and let them let you know how much it will cost to replace the CCD.
If properly captured pictures can be played back fine ( quality is ok ) but images look 'noisy' i.e. color and resolution not what it should be then your camera has a faulty CCD sensor. Ask Pentax if they do this model with this problem free of charge ( most manufacturers repair CCD problems free of charge ).
