I am trying to burn a CD. The playist has 15 songs, 1 hour and 101 MB. I am burning to a CD with 700 MB and 80 minutes of space. iTunes says there isn't enough room on the CD. So, I click to go ahead with more than one CD and it just sits there and doesn't so a damn thing.

Your CDR is 700MB and you have 101MB of data to burn, isn't it obvious that you have overloaded your data by 31MB for burning? The CDR will not burn in your case. Reduce your intended data to less than 700MB and the CDR will burn.

What is a Gigabyte in simple language

A gigabyte is a measure of computer memory or disk space consisting of about one billion bytes.
1GB equals:
A 90-minute, standard-definition movie on iTunes
A pair of 45-minute TV episodes (again, in standard-def, not HD)
( in HD you'd get one 60 minute Video )
About 200 songs ( I have actually put over 800 songs on a single DVD - 4.7GB) the disc will play for the better part of a day.
About 250 pictures (from a 10-megapixel camera)
About 500 e-books (assuming they're an average of 2 MB each)

NOTE : if your burning Movies to a disc, use a 4.7 GB DVD (standard size) you probably won't need all of the space ( unless its a BluRay copy) but a CD only has 700mb of storage and all Movies are longer than that and since DVD prices have come down so far that there's really not any difference than the price of a CD. I get them for less than 10¢ apiece at Staples or Office Depot.
I hope this helps you get a concept of what a Gigabyte is.

Cannot burn audio cd with iTunes

Maybe iTunes don't want your burning their music. I'm not sure cuz I don't use Itunes, but if it works on others that sounds like it might be the problem.

Here I found the below on Apple's site.

Symptoms Find out what to do if you can't burn an audio CD using iTunes for Windows. Sometimes an audio disc may not burn as expected. Here are some things to check.
Resolution Update iTunes Download and install the latest version of iTunes for Windows.
Songs not authorized iTunes will stop burning a disc if one or more of the songs in a playlist were purchased from the iTunes Store but are not authorized to play on this computer. This message appears:
"Some of the files can not be burned to an audio CD. Do you still want to burn the remainder of this playlist? For more information on why some files can not be burned, click below".

There's more so click the link below and see why you can't burn your cd.

I'm trying to burn some songs in Windows Media Player, it's around 300 MBs of songs going to a 700 MB CD-R. Windows says I can only burn around 15-17 of the songs on one disc.I have no idea why it does...

Hey!

Windows Media Player would only allow you 15-17 songs because the type of disc that it will create would be a music CD.

If you want to put in a lot of songs on a CD, it should be a data CD not a music CD.

I suggest you use a burning software that will allow you to make a data CD.

Here's a link that will show you free burning softwares. Click here to get there.

Hope this helps! :D

When I used to download a 40 minute CD on to iTunes, it used to consume about 40 MB of space but now when I download a CD, a 40 minute CD consumes 400 MB of space. As a result I used to be able to have...

It might just be on how the files are being converted
just check the settings on you Itunes
check the bitrate if it's 128kbits or higher
that might be the reason
just double check :)

I have been attempting to burn a cd from my itunes library, it keeps giving me an error 2630. Yes I am using a new blank cd.

What type of CD media does your burner support? CD+R CD-R, CD-RW.
A few suggestions:
CD-RW or re-writables do not support audio burning to CD format.
Are songs being burned as a data disc(unplayable files) or CD audio?
Have you exceeded the 700 to 800 MB range of data that a CD can hold?
Try dropping a couple of songs off the list and see what happens.
Try rebooting the computer and try burning again.
Down load a free version of Nero software and try to burn the CD from there.

When I burn i cd with iTunes some songs won't play and others will. why?

What format are the songs in, ie- mp3 / wma etc. make sure the device you are trying to play your cd on recognises these formats. if unsure compare the format of the songs, to the songs that do and don't work, the ones that won't play are probably in a format not recognised by your player, this is common in older or cheaper players.
