Yes you have to re-install but at first you have to uninstalled which you install from the disc then restart computer then you install the disc agian ok.

try to go to your uninstaller in control panel and try to uninstall IDM, then restart your pc, try again to download something and it should work now. It only means that your idm got an error, re-installing idm will work after uninstalling it and restarting the pc.
Try going to the manufacturer's website, from there go to the support section, drivers download. They'll have a section to search for your model of computer (laptops have it on a sticker on the bottom, desktop can be anywhere on the case).
Otherwise post the make and model and someone can point you in the right direction.
Try uploading to your PC then converting it to AVI this keeps quality of video. Then if you want to download to a disk use Nero to convert it to VOB (DVD format) and burn off. You can also use Nero to erase the disk. (Nero 7 or more recent preferably.) You must also be sure you PC DVD read write head can take the DVD +/- RW. CHeck compatability.
If it came preinstalled, you can go download it again from manufacturer's website. If you have the disc, then reinsert the disc in tray and follow instructions to install onto hard drive.
Did you install it from an original disc or download it off the internet? If it is off an original disc, try making a copy of the dic if you have a burner. Now use the copy as the install disc. Unisntall it ands reinstall with backup copy disc. If you downloaded it off the net, the download is corrupted, and you need to uninstall it and download it again. Good luck.
