My tv went black like this last time and then it got working again well i turned on my ps3 and i then suddenly it all went black. you could hear the sound for a matter of seconds then. you could hear nothing. the power is still on but nothing else. is this because i put my new hdmi cable in a few days befrore.

sounds like the Backlight has failed, if you look closely at the screen you should be able to see the image changing, but as there is no back light there is no luminescense so it will appear black or grey, It is probably the backlight inverter or element that has failed, if this is within warrany organise with them to fix it for free,

what if i dont have a remote control to unlock the tv

It is a problem on the main board and could be the regulator IC or Horizontal output transistor.
Regulater IC should be a STR53041
The HOT is marked on the front
Be sure to check the 100mfd @50v cap next to reg IC
and the transistor on the left N4923

There is a install kit 483531057673 for this model when the set is dead. The kit will contain 7404 and the Horizontal Driver Transformer 5402 along with resistors that will limit stress on 7404 and includes complete instructions
