Fridge warm, freezer cold. repair guy said its fine if milk is not spoiling. but set at 6 coldest temp is around 40

Can you feel air movement from the freezer to the refrigerator side through the cooling tubes when the evaporator fan is operating?

If not you might have some ice build up in the cooling tube that is not allowing the refregerator to get cold enough. Try a hair dryer to clean it.

The fridge side is not cooling well. It is cooler than room temp, but not cold. What could cause this problem?

In a side by side, the most likely failure for your type of problem is a failure in the drfrost ciruit (defrost heater, defrost thermostat and defrost timer) that allows an ice build up behind the inner back panel of the freezer. And then you also get an ice build up in the cooling tubes that is susposed to take cold air from the freezer compartment to the refregerator compartment.

The next likely item is the evaporator cooling fan that is located in the freezer compartment. If it is working then there is no cold air transfer. You should be able to feel the air flow in the refrigerator section if it is working.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

Ice forming in freezer refrigerator not getting cold

Replace your heater and thermostat behind the back wall of the freezer. the air will not flow from the freezer to the fridge because of all the forming ice. Also replace the defrost timer. take your model number into a local parts store and they can get you the parts. This is very common!!!!! But pretty easy to do.

Trubleshoot refrigerator staying cold enough

First review the troubleshooting steps in the instruction manual. Check the freezer and frige temperature setting control knobs. Make sure the fan, coils, compressor etc. are clean. Check the door seals, especially at the bottom. If all that does not work, do some more online research (which is what I'm up to right now because I am faced with the same problem).

Refregerator

if your sure its not working ,you have to remove the cover in the freezer on the back wall and it requires a volt meter to make sure its not working.
