MY kitchen Aide mixer was running alittle rough /loud and now has stop completely. It is approx 24 years old and has never had any problems. It is hard to find a local repair [place. any suggestions

Two things you can do for a 24-year old machine:

1. Replace both motor brushes (Black large plastic Caps on each side
of the Moto Housing). Without these, the motor wouldn't even run.
2. Replace the Worm Gear (the cause of the Rough Loud noises)

Download a copy of the Repair Part List from Kitchenaid.com for
your model KSM90.

Also don't forget to tighten all the screws inside the mixers and use
fresh Kitchenaid Grade Food Grease for all the gears.

How do I get an owners manual for Kitchen Aid Ultra Power Model KSM90 stand mixer? I was given the used mixer and I do not know the frist thing about it.

Hi PASTYJOHN, it's very easy to download both the Owners Manual and Parts List manual for your KA mixer. You can download a PDF version from the KA website at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.

Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> then enter the visitor type "Consumer" and enter the 6 character model number, in this case KSM90P, where you can choose one of the three size files under Owners Manuals (20). Since there are three versions - 191.99 KB, 2730.37 KB or 3230.97 KB, I would download all three and save the one you feel is best for your needs. Similarly, I would also download a parts list manual, too. Since the Parts List manuals are exactly the same you can choose any one of the 16 available to download and save.

Good luck, I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA, USA

My beater, dough hook, and wire whip all hit the bottom of the mixing bowl. I have been told that I can adjust them. Can you tell me how? Thank you

On the tilt head models there is a "Stop screw" that adjusts how far down the head goes. I just can't remember if it's in the head or base. I use the other model that lifts the bowl.

Tipped over my blender, broke the black plastic piece that raises and lowers the top, and now it is stuck in lower position. Won't move.

Blender? This is a form about Kitchenaid mixers . . . assuming that's what you have, and it is a stand type mixer, look at this page:

http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Repair%20Part%20List%20-%208212369.pdf

And you will see the linkage which was bent/broken. Hopefully you will be able to either straighten the bent part or replace it if it is broken.

Kitchen Aid KSM90 300watt Ultra Power Mixer

According to the service manual this is the drip cup and is really only held on by friction. I have not tried to take my mixer apart yet but I would think that if your drip cup is too loose, all you need to do is come up with something (string, paper, saran wrap, etc) that will not actually glue it together but will add sufficient thickness to help hold it in place.

Kitchen aid tilthead mixer will not lock down

The solution for both of these is a large screw that sits at the base of the head where the head and the base meet - you'll see it when you tilt the head up. This screw should not be all the way in. You can adjust how low the head goes- in the case of your blades hitting the bowl you'll want to let the screw out a bit; in the case of the locking, you'll want to screw it in a bit more.
