Locked blackberry I bought a Blackberry 7250 off Ebay and had it activated today by Verizon without any problems. However, I cannot receive calls and when I attempt to make calls, it says, "Sorry, only emercency calls are allowed." The customer service associate said a code was installed, but the person I bought the phone from doesn't know it. Is there another way to unlock it so I can make calls?

Hi, if you want to use the phone in Tanzania you should get unlock code or unlocked handset to use with any service provider, Please try to get unlock code, however if you want to drivers please go to blackberry.com and you can download latest version Blackberry Desktop Manager. and then you can install the software. Sometimes sellers lock the phone with a password. You can try contacting the seller for the password, they will usually give you the password without hesitation (basically it's their shipment delivery confirmation). Try a default one of: wireless1

If you log in ten times with the wrong password the Blackberry will reset to the factory settings. This will earse all the data and unlock the phone.

have you tried doing a hard reset of the device? go to Settings, Options, Security Options, General Settings, Device Wipe.

Your sim does not fit it or can not fix it , why not if you seem to be having unlocking problems take the phone into a mobile store and have them unlock it for you.

It sounds like the device was originally activated and worked with a Blackberry enterprise Server, where the administrator had voice calls blocked for the users, so that they did not run up bills - in other words, it was programmed just to do email. If this is the situation, there may not be a solution available to you.
