If it used to work and now does not, either the valve that controls the water inlet to the hot is bad or the temp sensor in the machine is bad. What is the whole model number?
the part#for the switch is 3949238 you can order it by going to searspartsdirect.com or look in your local phone book and find a parts dist. in your area
Hi, It does sound like the inlet valve is bad. If the screen inside the inlet vavle is not plugged, you will most likely need to change the valve. If you will send me a model #. I can tell you how to get to the valve for replacement.
Are you on well water? turn off the cold water to the washer and clean the screen filter out. do not leave filter out. the machine probably has a cold only final rinse so it won't work properly.
it sounds like the hot water supply hose on the back inlet water valve is not opening up,to check it switch the hoses, cold on hot,and hot on cold, put the washer on fill cold,if hot water comes out you know it's the water valve-mike
it will switch from hot to cold and back and forth trying to regulate the temp. You probrbly have more pressure in your cold water line than your hot or vise versa. This will cause it to seem to pulse. Dave www.washermd.com
Yes, the only other thing I would do and you may have done this is to put the hose directly over in the washer tub and turn the water on to check the flow. If that's good then replace the water valve.
if your washer will agitate when set to fill but not fill, then your pressure switch is bad. also you may want to check and see if you are getting both hot and cold to your washer.
first be sure you are getting a good flow of cold as far as the washer connection..if so ck inside washer connection for a small wire screen be sure it's not plugged if so clean and flish line to remove anything inside hose ..be sure to put screen back in ..if still no cold suspect bad cold section of valve..replace valve..last remote possibility temp switch is bad
Yes patrick you can try removing the cold hose from the washer, look inside the valve for a metal screen. If it has sediment blocking it remove screen, clean it and reinstall. If still no water replace inlet valve.
