SOURCE: Connect an FL-20, FL-36, FL-40 or FL-50 external flash

The FL-20, FL-36, FL-40 or FL-50 dedicated external flash can be attached directly to the hot shoe on the camera. To use the FL-20, FL-36, FL-40 or FL-50 flash off-camera, you will need a bracket and appropriate flash cable. Please use the following information as a reference: FL-BK01 Flash Bracket (item #200666) - used to mount an external flash to the C-5060 Wide Zoom. FL-CB02 Hot Shoe to TTL Cable (item #200663)- this cable is required for the dedicated FL-20, FL-36, FL-40, or FL-50 flash.

Use Sanyo Eneloop NiMH batteries. These are slow-discharge batteries that will keep you going for a long time. Cheers

Olympus fl-50 powers up but flash does not fire / work

I have the same problem, I have looked every where even on the Olympus site and have no luck finding anything, I paid £280 pounds for this unit and have hardly used it. Took it to a few repair center's & they reckon £200 pounds to repair it (how can that be) I only want it repaired and am sure it is the bulb I don't want to buy a new one this could happen again at great cost to me. I have to say I am not very happy with Olympus at all, bad service, & lack of help with this problem.
