Kodak EasyShare 5100 printing

Just replaced all ink cartridges, using copy feature, made a copy, it had lines that were fully copied and lines that were only the tops ( or bottoms) of the letters in a line or complete lines that did not copy at all.

if you scan the image to your computer and then print it, does it look ok? if you copy it twice are both copies bad in the same lines?

Did you run the Clean Print Head feature? Did you align print heads and make sure everything is aligned? There are a few tests you can do to make sure everything is lined up correctly. If you need help, try here: http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn033539.jhtml?pq-path=9098

Not printing in color and black/white copy not clear, light in some places

Dear sir
good day
to fix up such problem
Clean the printhead, then print and
  1. Verify that inkjet paper is loaded in the paper trays.
  2. On your desktop, start the KODAK All-in-One Home Center, then select the Help [?] icon.
  3. From the Help menu, select Maintenance, then select Printhead Cleaning. The On/Off light flashes green during the cleaning procedure.
  4. When the On/Off light glows a steady green, press Photo + Copy simultaneously to print a demo sheet
and you have to Replace ink cartridges.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you are using KODAK Ink Cartridges. Your KODAK All-in-One Printer is designed to work with KODAK Ink Cartridges. Kodak is not responsible for the compatibility or performance of either non-Kodak brand ink cartridges or refilled ink cartridges. To purchase KODAK Ink Cartridges, go to KODAK Ink Cartridges & Photo Value Packs.
  1. Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead.
  2. Insert new KODAK ink cartridges into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear the cartridges click into position.
  3. Close the printer access door, then make the same print.

The black print doesn't fully print each line, roughly every third line only has the top or bottom printed and the rest is very faded

Here are the steps.

1.Please verify that the ink cartridges are intact and securely inserted into the printhead.

a.Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead

b.Verify that the label on the ink cartridges is intact, and the cartridges are not damaged.

c.Insert the ink cartridges into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear them click into position.

2.Clean the printhead.

a.On your computer, open your Kodak AiO Home Center software.
b.Click on the Help (?) button.
c.Click on the Maintenance option.
d.Click on the Clean Printhead option.

3.Print Demo Page.

Press Photo and Copy buttons at the same time for 2-3 seconds or until the printer starts printing then release the buttons.

If issue persists, the printhead on your printer require replacement. Call 1.800.421.6699

Thanks.

Have kodak easyshare 5100 all in on printer and has always been great until now. When i buy new ink cartridges, copies have lines in them even still after i run maintenance, printhead cleaning and stuff....

its actually the head having the old dried up clogged ink. Head cleaning is only way out and you do have to do it a number of times. The other thing is to get "cartridge flush" ink .. which is a cartridge plugged in and printed a semi transparent liquid and you see all the coloured gunk streaks on the top of the page..

WHEN I SCAN OR TRY TO PRINT A FILE THE COPY BUTTON IS ON.

From that, am I right to assume anything you print/copy comes out blank?

If it sounds normal otherwise, I would suggest trying to change the ink cartridges as they may be empty or dried up.

Kodak EasyShare 5100 All-in-one printer will not print ink

you most likely need to run a head clean and alignment, which is needed after each cartridge replacement.
