SOURCE: No output from outputs to speakers.
Usually the outputs are not fused, but you can go thur speaker white noise test and see if that works first. If it does, then outputs are probably fine, IF not then the output transistors are most likely bad. Let me know and we can try some other things thur live chat if you would like. Good luck Guru Jay
SOURCE: RECEIVER WILL NOT TURN ON.
first you have to test separatly your speakers outputs
disconnect all wires speaker and speakers, turn on your reciever and look if you still have the same problem «CHECK SPEAKER WIRES alert» if yes you have to go to a specialist to fix it... if no test one line after one line with and without speaker connected until the problem reappear to locate the bad line or bad speaker.
SOURCE: Zone 2 connections
go into your amp settings menu then to speaker settings, set zone 2 on and main on, turn up the volume for zone 2 about half way then connect phono cables from zone 2 pre out to a input on the external amp (eg cd input )
never use the phono input this is for turntables, connect this amp to your speaker switch/selector then to speakers.
hope this helps
cable guy.
SOURCE: no zone 2 sound coming from yamaha amp rx-v861
Had same problem. A and B speakers are basically connected together, and there is no way to get the same volume out of each speaker. This is not a multi-source receiver like Onkyo. Zone 2 needs to go to a seperate amplifier and select teh correct source on the fornt,
SOURCE: unit turns itself off after diplaying code "check SP wire"
My guess, guess, check CLOSELY the SPeaker wires - "Check SP wire" make sure all of the bare portion of the wire is into the terminal. No bare wire touching another bare wire both at the receiver and at the speakers. Also, if the wiring is not continuous, check all connections of speaker wire. Disconnect all but one, play it like that. If no problem, label that as good, disconnect another for several days, when one shuts Rec. off, check wires closely for that speaker.
