If the below Reset does not resolve your problem go to the link below this and click next to the right

http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/classic/#

Reset To reset your iPod:

  • 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  • 2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
  • the screen says bookends and it cannot be turned - 5rs_reset_clickwheel.png
    Tip:
    • If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
    • If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

Power Only

On the LG TV remote, press either the "return" button or the "exit" button, then press power to turn it off and then power to turn it back on again.

Fixed!

(This happens when some other device remotes send a strange signal to the LG TV, putting it in a service mode).

Screen went black while watching movie but light is still on

press the centre button + menu button  /or/   centre button + play button, during 10 seconds, it will restart and luckily it will work ok.
If that doesn't work, connect it to the computer, open iTunes, and  the menu where the ipod is shown click "restore", this will whipe out your ipods memory. If even this doesn't work... take it to an Apple store.
