Question about Xerox Phaser 6360DN Printer

Xerox 6360dn, Tray 2 makes loud grinding noise when printing. Tray 1 is as quiet as a mouse. Replaced tray 2 with a known good tray and it still makes grinding noise.

Defiantly a main drive issue, slipping belt can make the noise you described, sometimes the pulley gets tight or the tensioner binds causing the belt to slip

MY XEROX PHASER 6360 IS PRINTING CROOKED
Most of the time this happens because the paper is not aligned properly in the tray. Make sure the paper is fit very snug next to the paper guides.

How do you set the machine to print on letter and legal based on docs that are emailed to me in 1 file. some are legal some are letter. can the printer print it on the right size. i have only the 1 mpt...

Printing from wrong tray
I suffered from the same problem for a long time. We got Xerox Phaser 8550 and 8560 here. I choose on computer "tray 2" but the printer just print from tray 1 which is empty.

Today i figured it out! It's some configuration at the printer. So go to "Paper tray setp" -> "Tray 1 mode" and "Tray 2 mode" -> change to "static".

I figure it's like this. Before it was "dynamic", it probably means the printer decides it's better to use tray 1 even though you choose tray 2 - and this decision is stupid. Changing it to "static" fixes this.

Xerox Phaser 7750 - Tray 1 streaks on prints
If you put Tray 2 in Tray 1's spot with the heavy stock in Tray 1 (now in tray 2's spot) and print from it, does the problem persist?

GRINDING NOISE or PAPER JAM
If you are not a technical person best thing to do is to show it to an expert. grinding noise means some part in the machine is running with the friction. and might brake something or scratch something. Find out persons who work on photocopiers in your area either samsung or Xerox. as this model comes with both the companies and Xerox people are generly better than samsung people.

Your maintenance roller could be out of place in the kit. Since you just replaced the kit and getting the grinding noise. Sounds like you have a problem with that kit binding as it pivots up and down away from the drum.

Not printing from tray 2.
Check that the paper pickup rollers forthat tray are not melted from excessive heat. Take out the paper tray and try to manually move the gears.

Loud clicking noise
This is one of the known issues with the HL-5240. This will require a replacement paper tray. Definately the problem if it is more of a clack than a click.
