Hi I need some belt clips for the RCA TC25055re1 handset. But I believe they are common across a few models. Anyway it has "H5401" stamped on the back. If there's a flaw with these phones, it that if you bend over too far, the clip breaks (not just falls off) everytime! Where can I get some of these?

read the user manual as the handsets have to be registered by the base unit to be connected
the main base is the operational unit
the other bases are just cradles to hold the phone while it is being charged

Hello Sat, hi, its a failure of the horizontal output transistor responsible for high voltage. This transistor is needed to be replaced. you need a TV tech guy to have this fixed. have it checked first, the trouble is common to CRT type TV really easy to fix. for a tech guy.

There should be a little clip to retain the cord in the handset. If this clip is gone, the cord needs replacing. This clip is a plastic protrusion on the clear (most of the time) connector to the handset or phone. This clip must be depressed in order to remove the cord. If it has been forced and broke off, it will not longer retain the cord.

Cables and cord as well as connectors can be purchased and installed quite easily.

"It is the front panel on the tv (button panel). I took my friends tv apart and unplugged the button panel from the circuit board before it turned it's self off and the tv worked fine. It didn't turn off and on or change channels on it's own. The problem that I found is that this part is hard to find,online anyway. It can be fixed by a repair shop, but they will want to charge you 100.00+ dollars to it. It's simple to take apart and simple to install. The Tv is already messed up anyway, why not give it a shot if you think you can."

this sounds like the belt that drives the turntable itself is slipping you can normally access it by removing the securing clip by the centre spindle and then lift the turntable up and you should be able to see the belt give the belt a good clean with isopropyl alcohol refit and hey presto (if you still get slippage order a replacement belt )

That set is a CTC197 chassis with a common problem - flyback or more commonly referred to as the FBT...
The FBT is a high voltage transformer which delivers a great deal of voltage to the crt to light the tube. The FBT is RCA p/n# 237502 and a ring test can confirm its failure. Another shortcut technicians use is to unsolder the collector of the HOT and power the set. If it powers with up and has audio you're in business, just replace the FBT and it's recommended to replace R14704 its an 82k ohm- 1/2w resistor and C14710 a .01/1kv cap as well. I believe if you order these as a kit, (ie: original RCA FBT), the two other parts are included - but ask to make sure.
You might also check for continuity across E & B of the HOT with a multi-meter while you're in there and if you get any resistance at all the HOT is shorted also... Or for simple reliability just replace it anyway.

I, too, have this model phone and love it. The headset battery barely lasted 9 months. I've been bumped around to many places including Thompson, Radio Shack, etc. I do believe Thompson (800-338-0376) has the battery for the HANDset, but they DO NOT have the battery for the headset. The HEADset battery is available through partstore.com (on the internet) (866-925-7278). This shipping document gives you the pricing info:

You may well find that the HANDset battery is available there, also. The RCA HANDset battery part number is 5-2683. You will need this to cross reference if you use partstore.com.
Warning: Radio Shack will say that they have the replacement battery. I had to send the one they ordered for me back to Radio Shack - - don't need to say more!!!
