Question about Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera

Saturday night my camera would not turn on--I charged the battery and reinstalled them turned the camera on and it will flash EOS on the display screen where it normally shows battery strength, etc. and then it cuts right back off--do I need a new battery?

When was the last time you changed the internal "watch" battery in the camera? that might need changed.

And a new lithium battery might be a good idea too. my camera stopped turning on this summer until I replaced both batteries.

The flash pops up but then shows err99 and request that you to turn camrea off and back on to reset. but it does it again If you need to use the flash. camera is fine if you want to use it during the day....

Installation of this Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update will solve these problems:

Rebel xt/eos 350D will not power on, was looking at pictures on the screen last night,tried to turn it on a few minutes later and nothing. charged battery all night, but still nothing when i switch it on....

Canon 300d flash won't fire. Pops up ok but display just reads "busy" and camera locks up. Must turn on/off to get camera working. External flash works ok.
This may sound obvious, but have you tried to make surer the battery is fully charged and then see'ing if it still does this? The reason I suggest this is that I had a similar problem and when I fully charged the battery this problem went away. I tend to keep an extra battery (fully charged) plus the charger on hand at all times.

My 9 month old camera will power up, focus and flash however it will not take the picture. When looking through the view finder, "busy" flashes when trying to take the picture. The battery is fully charged...

No display when camera is turned on
Turns out it was a fault with the camera itself. Exchanged it for another one and that one is all singing and dancing. Guess it was bad luck with the first one.

Err 99 on canon rebel xt 350 d
The Err 99 problem occurs due to dirty contacts between the body and the lens. I recommend cleaning the contacts. You can then turn Off the camera and then remove and reinstall the batteries to reset the camera to get the problem fixed.

Digital rebel battery drain with flash only
I would suspect the batteries

Ive got an eos Rebel think its just over 4 years old
for the last year its been used every weekend for several hours 300+ pics per weekend between 2 nights I found that recently where one battery would last a night the battery was running out midway through & also taking longer to charge afterwards

2 after market replacements cost me about £10 and things are back to normal

5 years is a pretty good lifespan for a battery so its probably just getting old

What's causing my Canon Rebel XT EOS to write files into separate folders - and how do I fix it? My Canon Rebel XT EOS is writing each photo to its own folder instead of grouping by 100s as it used to. I then have to manually erase each one, too - can't delete them all at once once I've transferred them to my laptop. Any suggestions?
